Tree League of Columbia

Over the past few years several of our old historic elm trees had to be removed as they were in danger of falling. The purpose of this Web page will be to inform the public of news & upcoming events regarding our trees.

COLUMBIA TREE PLANTING
(No more tree plantings have been scheduled yet)

Vision Statement

The Tree League of Columbia’s mission is to develop and promote a continual program for the preservation of trees on Columbia’s streets within the National Historic Landmark District. The program’s success will depend on the cooperation, guidance and approval of Tuolumne County Public Works and the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation.

First, TLC will develop and promote a plan to replant the recently removed Elm Trees and return long missing trees to the streets, thereby ensuring Columbia’s Tree Legacy for the future.

Second, TLC will develop and promote a plan to preserve and manage all the present trees on the County right-of-way within the NHLD, following standards and management practices established by the International Society of Arboriculture and/or The American Society of Consulting Arborists.
